Cyclone may delay ops startup at Metro Mining's Bauxite Hills project

In preparation for Tropical Cyclone Nora, Metro Mining Ltd. has flown non-essential staff and contractors out of its Bauxite Hills mine in Queensland, Australia, as a precautionary measure.

The mine was slated to start mining operations in the week of April 2, but the weather conditions may delay the process by up to one week. A caretaker workforce will remain on site until it is considered safe for the staff to return.

The company noted March 23 that it did not expect the event to impact its full-year production guidance.
