JSC Halyk Savings Bank of Kazakhstan CEO Umut Shayakhmetova said the lender's consolidated net income outlook for full year 2019 is now 300 billion Kazakh tenge, up from the previous guidance of 270 billion tenge, Reuters reported, citing Russia's Interfax news agency.
The Kazakhstan-based bank now took into account a lower cost-to-income ratio, Shayakhmetova said.
Halyk Bank reported second quarter consolidated net profit attributable to common shareholders of the parent of 89.73 billion tenge, up from 24.12 billion tenge a year earlier. EPS for the period was 7.68 tenge, compared to the year-ago 2.19 tenge.
For the first half, the bank's attributable profit came in at 164.23 billion tenge, up from 86.17 billion tenge a year ago. EPS was 14.06 tenge, compared to 7.84 tenge in the first half of 2018.
As of Aug. 21, US$1 was equivalent to 385.89 Kazakh tenge.
