A.M. Best saidApril 6 that it affirmed the financial strength rating of A (Excellent) and theissuer credit rating of "a+" of five Barbados-based reinsurers: , ,TD Reinsurance (Barbados) Inc.,Royal Bank of Canada Insurance Co.Ltd. and BMO ReinsuranceLtd..

The outlookfor the ratings is stable.

Positive factorsfor the insurer's ratings include: strong capitalization, favorable operating earnings,strong return on equity and a conservative investment portfolio for CIBC Reinsurance;strong levels of capitalization, return on equity and liquidity for Scotia Insurance;and strong profitability, solid capitalization, above-average return on equity andstrong liquidity for TD Reinsurance.
