Church & Dwight Co. Inc. said its normalized net income for the second quarter was 41 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 40 cents per share.
EPS increased 45.8% year over year from 28 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $106.9 million, a gain of 43.1% from $74.7 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 12.2% from 8.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed on an annual basis to $877.4 million from $847.1 million, and total operating expenses totaled $702.1 million, compared with $704.8 million in the year-earlier period.
Reported net income grew 51.6% year over year to $111.3 million, or 43 cents per share, from $73.4 million, or 28 cents per share.
