Gayatri Sugars Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to a loss of 1.82 Indian rupees per share, compared with a loss of 1.39 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 76.4 million rupees, compared with a loss of 60.8 million rupees in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to negative 21.4% from negative 27.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 58.6% year over year to 357.0 million rupees from 225.1 million rupees, and total operating expenses grew 57.7% on an annual basis to 422.2 million rupees from 267.7 million rupees.
Reported net income came to a loss of 122.2 million rupees, or a loss of 2.92 rupees per share, compared to a loss of 97.2 million rupees, or a loss of 2.22 rupees per share, in the year-earlier period.
As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to 62.03 Indian rupees.
