Phoenix Beverages fiscal Q2 profit climbs 30.8% YOY

Phoenix Beverages Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was 7.69 Mauritian rupees per share, a gain of 30.8% from 5.88 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 126.5 million rupees, an increase of 30.8% from 96.7 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 7.6% from 6.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 5.8% on an annual basis to 1.67 billion rupees from 1.58 billion rupees, and total operating expenses climbed year over year to 1.46 billion rupees from 1.41 billion rupees.

Reported net income decreased 66.0% on an annual basis to 171.0 million rupees, or 10.40 rupees per share, from 503.6 million rupees, or 30.62 rupees per share.

As of Feb. 10, US$1 was equivalent to 33.13 Mauritian rupees.
