Euronext's June average daily transaction value falls 14% YOY

The average daily transaction value on pan-European exchange Euronext NV's cash order book was €7.59 billion in June, down 14.0% from a year earlier and up 3.4% from May.

Activity on exchange-traded funds reached an average daily transaction value of €227 million in June, down 15.3% from a year ago and down 10.7% from the previous month. At the end of June, Euronext recorded 1,208 ETF listings, compared with 1,150 at 2018-end.

The average daily volume on equity index derivatives amounted to 228,099 contracts, down 6.3% from June 2018. The ADV on individual equity derivatives totaled 275,769 contracts, down 0.4% on a yearly basis, while the ADV on commodity derivatives was 51,442 contracts, down 17.4% compared to a year earlier and down 11.3% from the previous month.

The overall ADV on derivatives reached 555,310 contracts at June-end, down 4.6% from a year ago. The ADV on-the-spot foreign exchange market of Euronext FX, formerly FastMatch, stood at $19.28 billion in June, down 13.3% from a year ago and up 11.7% from May.
