Connecticut licenses 1st healthcare liability captive insurer

The state of Connecticut has licensed Keystone Indemnity Co. Ltd. as its first healthcare liability captive insurance company, effective Aug. 1.

The company was originally licensed in Vermont in 2001 until it redomesticated to Connecticut. It is owned by Masonicare, a provider of long-term care, home healthcare and hospice, and assisted and independent living services.

Michael Maglaras & Co. advised Masonicare and Keystone on the redomestication.
