Colony Bankcorp Inc. announced Lawrence Whitley as chief people officer of Colony Bank, effective June 10.

Whitley will lead the human resources department and manage the strategy and processes related to identifying new team members and retaining current banking professionals. Whitley will report to Chief Administrative Officer Kimberly Dockery. He replaces Julia Shadwick, who is no longer with the bank.

Whitey was previously CEO and practice manager of Dental Partners of Southwest Georgia.
