Nova Scotia Power issues term RFP for mid-sulfur coal through 2019

subsidiary has sentout a request for proposals on July 13 to supply mid-sulfur coal to its powerplants.

The utilityis seeking 50,000 to 150,000 tonnes, plus or minus 20%, of mid-sulfur coal fordelivery in the third or fourth quarter of 2016, and 100,000 to 300,000 tonnes,plus or minus 20%, of coal contracts for delivery from 2017 through 2019,according to the RFP document.

Itadded that suppliers can offer any quantity of volume indicated in any or allyears.

Thecompany is seeking coal with maximums of 12% ash, 12% moisture and 3% sulfur.Heating value should be at a minimum of 12,800 Btu/lb.

Proposalsare due no later than July 18. Responses should remain valid for acceptanceuntil July 27.
