San Francisco Fed president prefers specific inflation target

When it comes to inflation targets, San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank President John Williams is not in favor of range.

Speaking to members of the media in Salt Lake City, Williams warned that a less specific goal might cause lower expectations, Reuters reported Oct. 11. Reuters noted that Kevin Warsh, a rumored candidate for Fed chair, has said he would prefer a range instead of the current 2% objective.
