Church & Dwight Q3 profit climbs YOY

Church & Dwight Co. Inc. said its third-quarter normalized net income came to 46 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 47 cents per share.

EPS increased 5.4% year over year from 43 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $120.3 million, a gain from $116.1 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 13.8% from 13.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to $870.7 million from $861.8 million, and total operating expenses came to $674.7 million, compared with $671.2 million in the year-earlier period.

Reported net income rose on an annual basis to $123.5 million, or 47 cents per share, from $120.2 million, or 45 cents per share.
