Santander Chile issues CHF100M in 10-year bond

Banco Santander Chile Banco Santander Chile issued a 10-year bond on Aug. 21, worth CHF100 million.

The bond carries a spread of 69 basis points over the mid-swap rate, which is equivalent to a fixed rate of 0.135%.

The recent issuance is the bank's second transaction in the Swiss market in 2019, with the first one being in March for CHF150 million. It is also the bank's sixth instrument overall in that market, reaching a total to CHF790 million.

More recently in July, Santander Chile also placed four-year bonds that were worth 3 million UFs —which is Chile's inflation-indexed unit— or about $120 million, at a rate of 0.36% above the UF rate.
