China Polymetallic Mining Ltd. kicked off commercial production at its Aung Jiujia lead-zinc mine in Myanmar, after completing construction of a 1,000-tonne-per-day processing plant.
Meanwhile, the lead metal resources at the mine increased 5% from the geological report available at the time of acquiring the operation to 753,343 tonnes at a grade of 7.87% lead.
The estimate includes 339,447 tonnes in the measured category, 125,775 tonnes in the indicated category and 288,121 tonnes in the inferred category.
The company said Dec. 17 that it plans to carry out in-depth exploration work in the area and will explore other areas with lead-zinc resource potential.
