Banco de laProvincia de Buenos Aires employees conducted a work stoppage andblocked some of the bank's branches in Argentina, as part of a protest againstemployee layoffs and wage negotiations, Cronistareported April 6.
As a result of the protests, Banco Provincia halted customerservice offerings, including re-loading ATMs, according to the report.
The move follows the failure of wage and layoffs negotiations betweenArgentina's banking union and both Banco Provincia and .
The union reportedly has called for a national work stoppageon April 14 to demand a wage increase greater than 30% and the reinstatement ofworkers who were dismissed.
