Paul Eremenko, United Technologies Corp.'s chief technology officer, resigned, effective immediately, spokeswoman Michele Quintaglie confirmed to Reuters.
Eremenko joined the U.S. conglomerate from Airbus SE, where he was chief technology officer until November 2017.
Quintaglie told Reuters that Eremenko stepped down to pursue other opportunities outside the company and that Nicolas Pujet, who works on the United Technologies strategy team, will lead technology and engineering in the interim.
United Technologies is reportedly the world's largest aircraft supplier.
