Otter Media unit signs new channel partners for OTT service

Otter Media's Ellation unveiled eight new channel partners for videoplatform VRV.

Premium channels of Funimation, Tested, RiffTrax, CollegeHumor,Machinima, GINX eSports TV and Shudder will be available on VRV when itlaunches later in 2016, according to a Sept. 29 news release. Further,animation-focused digital distributor MONDO will debut its exclusive MONDOPremium service on VRV.

VRV, which will offer content across genres such as anime,animation, gaming, comedy, fantasy, horror and technology, previously signeddeals with Rooster Teeth, Seeso, Nerdist Alpha, Geek & Sundry Alpha,Cartoon Hangover and Ellation's Crunchyroll.

VRV will allow viewers to subscribe to full, premiumofferings à la carte or to bundles of selected channels. The service willinitially be available in the U.S. on mobile and living room devices.

Otter Media is a joint venture between the Chernin Group andAT&T Inc.
