RTL Group co-CEO steps down; Nokia COO quits

TOP MOVES

* Guillaume de Posch has decided to step down as co-CEO of RTL Group, effective Jan. 1, 2018, the company announced. De Posch will remain as a nonexecutive member of RTL Group's board. Following the announcement, Bert Habets will now lead the company as its sole CEO. Meanwhile, Elmar Heggen will remain as CFO and will take on the role of deputy CEO, responsible for Groupe M6 and RTL Belgium.

* Nokia Corp. COO Monika Maurer is stepping down to pursue new opportunities outside the company. The Finnish tech giant named Joerg Erlemeier COO, effective immediately. Erlemeier will also join the Nokia group's leadership team. Maurer will support Erlemeier during a transition period and will then leave Nokia.

MEDIA INDUSTRY MOVES

* Terry Burns was formally named the new chair of media and telecoms watchdog Ofcom and will serve a four-year term, effective Jan. 1, 2018.

* British media and telecom watchdog Ofcom named Althea Efunshile, Uzma Hasan, Fru Hazlitt and Tom Hooper as nonexecutive directors of public broadcaster Channel 4 (UK). Efunshile and Hooper will initially serve four-year terms, while Hasan and Hazlitt will sit on the board for initial terms of three years.

* Media Group Ukraine has appointed Alexander Semiyadchenko as general producer for news media, effective Dec. 14, Broadband TV News reported Dec. 11. Semiyadchenko will be in charge of developing news platform Today as well as the coordination of editorial teams.

* Monisha Shah and Jonathan Baker have been appointed to Ofcom's content board, a committee of the main Ofcom board that offers senior editorial and content experience to the British regulator. Shah and Baker will serve until Sept. 30, 2020.

* Marieke Reimann, assistant editor in chief at German newspaper Zeit subsidiary ze.tt, will be taking over the role of editor-in-chief as of 2018, Meedia reported Dec. 1. Reimann will succeed Sebastian Horn, who will move on to Zeit Online.

COMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY MOVES

* Przemyslaw Glebocki stepped down from Netia SA's supervisory board, Telecompaper reported Dec. 13. The Polish operator also appointed Krzysztof Adaszewski as a member of the management board, replacing Katarzyna Iwuc, who will act as management board chairwoman and director general. Andrzej Abramczuk was also named as a management board member and director of strategy and operations.

* Vladimir Drozdenko stepped down as CEO of Russian regional operator Crimeatelecom, Telecompaper reported Dec. 8, citing Comnews.ru. Ivan Loginov has been named to replace Drozdenko.

* Iliad appointed Alexis Bidinot deputy CEO. Bidinot joined Iliad in 2017 after serving as head of major events at Atos for Switzerland.

* Vodafone Group Plc unit Vodafone Deutschland Gmbh has extended the contract of CEO Johannes Ametsreiter for another three years following a decision by the executive board, T-Online.de reported Dec. 6. Ametsreiter's current contract would end in September 2018.

* Alexandre Matos is joining Altice NV unit Altice Portugal SA as CFO, effective immediately, Digital TV Europe reported Dec. 1. Matos will replace Gustavo Monteiro, who has been Altice Portugal's interim finance chief since April.
