Alibaba strikes 12-year deal to sponsor Olympic Games

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. became the official "cloud services" and "e-commerce platform services" partner and a founding partner of the Olympic Channel.

Under a long-term partnership through 2028 with the International Olympic Committee, Alibaba will provide cloud computing infrastructure and cloud services for the Olympic Games; create a global e-commerce platform for Olympic stakeholders; and leverage the Chinese e-commerce giant's digital media technologies to develop and customize the Olympic Channel for a Chinese audience.

Alibaba became the first company to make a long-term commitment to the IOC through 2028 and the first Chinese company to commit to the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.
