Former U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry was reappointed as a director Energy Transfer LP's general partner on Jan. 1, according to an SEC filing.

Perry departed the Department of Energy in December 2019. He had resigned from Energy Transfer's board at the end of 2016 ahead of the nomination and confirmation process to lead the department under President Donald Trump.
