Duke Energy Corp.announced three C-level appointments on April 12.
Dhiaa Jamil will assume the office of executive vice presidentand COO on May 1 while William Currens Jr. will take over as senior vice president,chief accounting officer and controller on May 16. They will be joined by MelissaAnderson who has been named executive vice president of administration and chiefhuman resources officer.
Currens succeeds Brian Savoy, who has been appointed senior vicepresident of a new group called Business Transformation and Technology. The groupwill comprise the company's existing information, technology and security organizationsas well as resources dedicated to business transformation.
Currens' current role as vice president of investor relationswill pass on to Michael Callahan, who currently serves as director of regulatedutilities forecasting.
Jamil has held at least two other C-level positions with thecompany; one as chief generation officer from July 2009 until March 2013 and anotheras chief nuclear officer from 2008 until March 2013. Jamil has been serving as executivevice president and president of generation and transmission since May 2015.
