Tai Roun Products Q2 profit climbs 42.0% YOY

Tai Roun Products Co. Ltd. said its second-quarter normalized net income came to 22 Taiwan cents per share, a gain of 41.8% from 16 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$39.1 million, a gain of 42.0% from NT$27.5 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 5.0% from 3.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose on an annual basis to NT$782.5 million from NT$764.2 million, and total operating expenses fell from the prior-year period to NT$719.2 million from NT$740.1 million.

Reported net income rose 82.6% on an annual basis to NT$55.0 million, or 31 cents per share, from NT$30.1 million, or 17 cents per share.

As of Aug. 11, US$1 was equivalent to NT$31.26.
