appointed Abdulaziz Alkhayyal, a former executive at the oil giant , to its board ofdirectors, effective Oct. 26.
Alkhayyal workedat Saudi Arabia's national oil company for 30 years, most recently as seniorvice president of industrial relations, until his retirement in 2014, accordingto an Oct. 3 news release. He was also a board member at Saudi Aramco from 2004to 2014.
Alkhayyalalso serves as a director of Halliburton Co., under the health, safety andenvironment and nominating and corporate governance committees.
WithAlkhayyal's appointment, Marathon's board has 11 directors. He is also expectedto contribute "unique insight" into global energy markets, accordingto Gary Heminger, chairman, president and CEO of Marathon.
