BCE Inc. CEO George Cope retired from the company.

The Canadian communications company appointed COO Mirko Bibic as president and CEO. Bibic also joins the boards of BCE and Bell Canada.

The company outlined its strategic imperatives, including continued capital investment in all-fiber home and business connections, enhanced rural connectivity and the upcoming launch of mobile 5G service.

Additionally, Bibic announced a restructured Bell executive leadership team, effective Jan. 6. Blaik Kirby, previously president of Bell Mobility, became the mobility, residential and small-business group president. Claire Gillies, previously senior vice president of retail, was promoted to president of Bell Mobility.

Karine Moses was promoted to vice chair of the Quebec group and will continue as president of Bell Media Québec. She succeeds retiring Québec vice chair, Martine Turcotte. John Watson became the customer experience group president.
