Apple Hospitality REIT Inc. named Blythe McGarvie to its board of directors Feb. 21, increasing the hotel real estate investment trust's board to eight members.

McGarvie was on the faculty of Harvard Business School and is former CEO and founder of consulting and advisory firm Leadership for International Finance LLC.
