Norwegian seafood company Marine Harvest ASA said Oct. 10 that Per-Roar Gjerde has been appointed as COO of all farming operations, effective Nov. 1.

The move comes as Marit Solberg, COO of farming for Canada, Scotland, Ireland and the Faroes, is set to retire Nov. 1.

Gjerde, who is COO of farming for Norway and Chile, will add Solberg's duties to his own. This will place Gjerde in a consolidated farming COO role with oversight of all the division's operations worldwide.

Marine Harvest said this would mark a return to its original management team structure.
