Siam Makro Q4 profit climbs 10.6% YOY

Siam Makro PCL said its fourth-quarter normalized net income came to 26 satang per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 26 satang per share.

EPS climbed 10.6% year over year from 23 satang.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 1.24 billion baht, a gain of 10.6% from 1.12 billion baht in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.8% from 2.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 10.8% on an annual basis to 44.78 billion baht from 40.43 billion baht, and total operating expenses rose 10.7% from the prior-year period to 42.73 billion baht from 38.60 billion baht.

Reported net income increased 13.6% year over year to 1.62 billion baht, or 34 satang per share, from 1.42 billion baht, or 30 satang per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 88 satang per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 1.11 baht.

EPS declined from 89 satang in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 4.22 billion baht, a decrease from 4.27 billion baht in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased 10.9% year over year to 172.09 billion baht from 155.22 billion baht, and total operating expenses grew 11.4% year over year to 165.07 billion baht from 148.17 billion baht.

The company said reported net income totaled 5.41 billion baht, or 1.13 baht per share, in the full year, compared with 5.38 billion baht, or 1.12 baht per share, the prior year.

As of Feb. 21, US$1 was equivalent to 35.05 baht.
