B2W Q3 loss widens YOY

B2W - Companhia Digital said its normalized net income for the third quarter amounted to a loss of 45 Brazilian centavos per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of a loss of 27 centavos per share.

The per-share loss widened 52.8% year over year from 29 centavos.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 115.2 million reais, compared with a loss of 57.4 million reais in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to negative 5.5% from negative 3.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 13.0% year over year to 2.08 billion reais from 1.84 billion reais, and total operating expenses climbed 17.2% year over year to 2.06 billion reais from 1.76 billion reais.

Reported net income came to a loss of 124.5 million reais, or a loss of 49 centavos per share, compared to a loss of 62.1 million reais, or a loss of 32 centavos per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Nov. 12, US$1 was equivalent to 3.79 reais.
