Breaker Resources NL said Nov. 13 that it discovered lithium mineralization at its Lake Roe gold project in Western Australia.
A recent 1,503-meter reconnaissance program of reverse circulation drilling returned assays including 17 meters grading 1.80% lithium oxide from a depth of 36 meters and 14 meters grading 1.03% Li2O from 92 meters, after outcropping lithium-bearing pegmatite was identified during gold-focused exploration earlier in the year.
Breaker Resources noted that mineralization has been defined over an area measuring about 700 meters long by 200 meters wide, with individual pegmatite dikes measuring up to 15 meters wide, in an area now known as the Manna lithium prospect.
Mapping, rock chip sampling and drilling have defined a footprint of lithium-bearing pegmatites measuring 3.4 kilometers by 1 kilometer.
The company will work to define the size and potential of the Manna discovery, with an auger geochemical survey underway over a 90-square-kilometer area and limited diamond drilling planned.
In October, Breaker Resources outlined plans to raise A$10.5 million for a pre-feasibility study on Lake Roe, after increasing gold resources by 74% in September.
