MK Restaurant profit misses consensus by 27.6% in Q1

MK Restaurant Group PCL said its first-quarter normalized net income was 41 satang per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 56 satang per share.

EPS rose year over year from 39 satang.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 372.4 million baht, an increase from 363.4 million baht in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 10.2% from 10.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 7.5% on an annual basis to 3.64 billion baht from 3.39 billion baht, and total operating expenses grew 7.6% from the prior-year period to 3.10 billion baht from 2.88 billion baht.

Reported net income rose on an annual basis to 477.5 million baht, or 52 satang per share, from 472.0 million baht, or 51 satang per share.
