Calpine gets FERC nod to acquire North American Power and Gas

FERC on Dec. 29 cleared Calpine Corp.'s proposed acquisition of two licensed electricity and natural gas retailers from certain private individuals and entities.

For undisclosed terms, Calpine Energy Services Holdco LLC will acquire North American Power Business LLC and North American Power and Gas LLC

Norwalk, Conn.-based North American Power and Gas is registered to supply electricity and/or natural gas in Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Texas, according to the company's website, which describes North American Power as one of the fastest-growing retail energy companies in the country.
