Astra International profit misses consensus by 30.1% in Q3

PT Astra International Tbk said its normalized net income for the third quarter was 72.45 rupiah per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 103.72 rupiah per share.

EPS declined year over year from 74.54 rupiah.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 2.933 trillion rupiah, a decrease from 3.018 trillion rupiah in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 6.5% from 6.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined on an annual basis to 44.086 trillion rupiah from 45.672 trillion rupiah, and total operating expenses fell from the prior-year period to 39.600 trillion rupiah from 40.811 trillion rupiah.

Reported net income increased 6.3% on an annual basis to 4.179 trillion rupiah, or 102.78 rupiah per share, from 3.931 trillion rupiah, or 97.11 rupiah per share.

As of Oct. 31, US$1 was equivalent to 13,032.50 rupiah.
