FirstEnergy's Ohio utilities issue RFP for solar, renewable energy credits

FirstEnergyCorp.'s Ohio utilities have launched a request for proposal topurchase 6,500 solar renewable energy credits and 230,000 renewable energycredits.

Ohio EdisonCo., ClevelandElectric Illuminating Co. and Toledo Edison Co. will utilize the credits to meet therenewable energy and solar energy resource requirements of Ohio's alternativeenergy law, according to an Oct. 3 news release. The credits musthave been generated between Jan. 1, 2014, and Dec. 31, 2016.

To participate in the RFP, a credit application should besubmitted by Oct. 31, and proposals are due by 5 p.m. ET on Nov. 7. A webinarto discuss the RFP process will be held on Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. ET.
