An electrician working at a preparation plant in West Virginia died from injuries sustained after an electric shock, according to an Aug. 7 release from the West Virginia Office of Miners' Health, Safety and Training.

The fatal incident occurred at about 8 a.m. ET on Aug. 7 at the Kanawha Eagle Mining LLC South Hollow Preparation Plant in Kanawha County, W.Va. That operation is controlled by Blackhawk Mining LLC, according to the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration.
