ING Groep NV named Gerald Walker its regional head in the Americas, effective July 1.

Walker will succeed Rudolf Molkenboer, who has headed the Americas since March 2013, and will further develop the Dutch group's franchise in the region from New York. Isabel Fernandez, head of ING wholesale banking, said she will announce Molkenboer's next role in due course.

Walker has worked for ING and its predecessors since 1990 and became regional head in the U.K., including Ireland and the Middle East, in 2011.
