Carlyle raises more than $5B for 8th US real estate fund

Private equity firm Carlyle Group LP has secured roughly $5.04 billion for its eighth U.S. real estate investment fund so far.

The Carlyle Realty Partners VIII LP fund has attracted capital from 84 investors, according to a March 7 SEC filing.

The U.S. real estate fund series targets opportunistic investments, primarily in the residential, hotel, industrial, office and retail sectors in major metropolitan markets in North America, according to Carlyle's website.
