Southern Power Co. has completed the sale of its 33% stake in an approximately 1,700-MW solar portfolio to an affiliate of Global Atlantic Financial Group Ltd. for $1.18 billion. Southern Power said it has acquired the 100-MW Wildhorse Mountain wind facility in Pushmataha County, Okla., for undisclosed terms.

Partners Group leads €4.6B purchase of German energy services provider Techem

Swiss private equity firm Partners Group Holding AG is leading a consortium of investors to acquire German energy services provider Techem GmbH in a deal valued at €4.6 billion. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of this year.

FERC clears Arclight Capital's sale of 1,700-MW wind portfolio

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved ArcLight Capital Partners LLC's sale of Leeward Renewable Energy LLC to an affiliate of OMERS Infrastructure Management Inc. for an undisclosed sum. The wind portfolio company owns and operates 19 wind projects with a total installed capacity of about 1,700 MW.

Hunt Consolidated shelves 'going private' plans for InfraREIT

Hunt Consolidated Inc. decided not to pursue a "going private" transaction for InfraREIT Inc. at present, but it said it may explore the option in the future, according to a May 24 company filing.

FERC clears Macquarie to acquire and deactivate NJ cogeneration plant

FERC has approved a request by Riverstone Holdings LLC to sell a combined-cycle cogeneration plant in Bayonne, N.J., to Macquarie Infrastructure Corp. The facility is connected to the PJM Interconnection balancing area, which has approved plans to deactivate the facility on June 1.

Pattern Energy to sell 81-MW interest in Chilean wind farm

Pattern Energy Group Inc. announced a deal May 24 to sell its interests in the 115-MW El Arrayán wind project in Chile for $67.0 million to affiliates of private equity firm Arroyo Energy Investment Partners LLC.

VivoPower looks to sell stakes in 2 NC solar farms

Arowana International Ltd and its affiliate VivoPower USA LLC asked FERC to authorize the sale of minority stakes in a pair of North Carolina solar farms to a subsidiary of New Solar Energy for $11.4 million. The applicants asked the commission to approve the transaction by June 25.
