On behalf of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center,Evolution Markets Inc. will hold an auction May 19, offering for sale 4,745vintage 2015 Massachusetts class I renewable energy credits, according to a May9 news release.
"Evolution is pleased to offer RECs on behalf of theMassCEC from a diverse portfolio of in-state renewable resources as thecompliance deadline for 2015 approaches," Peter Zaborowsky, managing director,environmental markets at Evolution Markets, said in the news release.
In the over-the-counter market, as of the week ended May 6,vintage 2015 Massachusetts class I RECs were eyed at an index of $26.50/MWh,according to SNL Energy data.
The RECs, which are approved by the Massachusetts Departmentof Energy Resources under the Massachusetts Renewable Portfolio Standard, willbe sold in one lot of 4,745 RECs. The RECs offered will be generated at fiverenewable energy projects: the Green Affordable Housing Initiative PhotovoltaicInstallation Aggregation project, the Fairhaven Wind facility, the City of BrocktonBrightfields facility, the KingstonWind Independence facility and the Town of Falmouth facility.
Parties may submit bids using an on-screen bidding platformadministered by Evolution Markets, in addition to submitting bids by telephone.The platform allows market participants to register for the auction in advance,post and view real-time bids during the open bidding process, and submit afinal sealed bid during the last phase of the auction.
