SEC taps JPMorgan exec to lead trading, markets division

The Securities and Exchange Commission has named JPMorgan Chase & Co. executive Brett Redfearn as director of its trading and markets division.

Redfearn has most recently been working as global head of market structure for JPMorgan Chase. As director of the Division of Trading and Markets, Redfearn will oversee broker/dealers, stock exchanges, alternative trading systems and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, among other market participants.

The position was last filled by Stephen Luparello, who left the SEC at the beginning of 2017.
