Executive Director Augustine Wong Ho-ming said the company will obtain a courtinjunction as a "last resort" if the dispute over its redevelopmentof a community farm in Hong Kong is not resolved through "normalprocedures."
The (Hong Kong) Standard quoted the executive as sayingthis in relation to the protests of farm workers in the village of Ma Shi Po inFanling. The publication said that village workers attempted to stop work atthe redevelopment by climbing over the barbed wires that sealed the5,500-square-foot site.
Hendersonis planning a new town redevelopment in the area, according to South China Morning Post.
The SCMP reported that Henderson ended itsrental agreement with the farm in 2007, but the latter continued to occupy thesite until April 25, when the developer began work at the site after receivinga March 23 court notice that ordered the villagers to leave the property.
