Helen of Troy Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, amounted to $1.32 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $1.31 per share.
EPS rose 46.5% year over year from 90 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $38.1 million, a gain of 30.0% from $29.3 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 8.7% from 7.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 14.4% on an annual basis to $435.7 million from $380.7 million, and total operating expenses climbed 11.9% from the prior-year period to $370.6 million from $331.3 million.
Reported net income rose 46.9% year over year to $55.3 million, or $1.92 per share, from $37.7 million, or $1.16 per share.
