BeIN Media launches new kids' channel, 8 others

'sbeIN MEDIA GROUP LLCteamed up with Germany-based producer and distributor Studio 100 Media for anew children-focused channel due to be launched for the Middle East and NorthAfrica region on April 1, beIN Media and Studio 100 Media jointly announcedMarch 31.

Based onStudio 100's Junior pay TV channel in Germany,Switzerlandand Austria, the new beJunior channel will feature Studio100 classics and modern fare such as CGI formats "Maya the Bee," "Victhe Viking" and "Heidi," along with upcoming titles "Arthurand the Minimoys," "Nils Holgersson" and "The WildAdventures of Blinky Bill."

BeJunior ispart of nine channels beIN Media is launching on April 1. The lineup alsoincludes Cartoon Network Hindi, courtesy of Time Warner Inc.'s Turner Broadcasting System Inc., beIN Movies 4, Baraem,Jeem, British Broadcasting Corp.'sCBeebies andDiscovery Communications Inc.'sAnimal Planet, Fatafeat and DTX, beIN Media said in a separate same day release.

Followingthe deal, beIN Media will stop offering Fatafeat as free-to-air channel.
