Google buys video streaming, monetization platform

GoogleInc. acquired Anvato, a video streaming and monetization platform,for an undisclosed sum.

Anvato will join the Alphabet Inc. unit's Google Cloud Platform team. Anvato'sMedia Content Platform will complement Google's efforts to enable scalablemedia processing and workflows in the cloud, according to a July 7 officialblog post.

Anvato CEO Alper Turgut said the same day that his companywill continue to serve its existing clients, which include 's , ,Scripps Networks InteractiveInc., 21st CenturyFox Inc.'s Fox Sports and Media General Inc.
