SNL Financial on July 8released second-quarter 2016 capital markets league tables for its coveredNorth American sectors.

Bank and thrift

'srole on two of the largest deals of the second quarter kept it atop SNLFinancial's league table rankings by deal value for bank and thrift commonequity offerings.

Insurance

hasretained its spot at the top of the debt offerings league table for insuranceunderwriters and brokers after serving on 16 deals during the second quarter,according to SNL Financial league table data.

Financial services

Thefinancial services initial public offering market showed signs of life duringthe second quarter.

Energy

Ledby a surge of deals in the power sector, energy debt offerings jumped in thesecond quarter of 2016 but fell shy of activity from a year ago.

Real estate

Anumber of investment banks absent from the rankings in 2015 earned spots on SNLFinancial's league tables for REIT and REOC capital markets activity throughthe first half.
