Sheffield Resources Ltd. secured additional binding off-take to sell premium zircon from its Thunderbird mineral sands project in Western Australia.
The company agreed to supply 1,000 tonnes of product per year to mineral sands processor CFM Minerales.sa, in addition to the five-year deal entered in October 2017 for 4,000 tonnes per year.
CFM's total off-take volume represents about 8% of the total stage-one estimated output at Thunderbird.
The company said Aug. 29 that key terms of the new deal are consistent with the previous agreement.
Sheffield Resources Managing Director Bruce McFadzean said the company now has off-take deals for almost all of the stage-one zircon and ilmenite output from Thunderbird.
The company recently entered an off-take agreement for an additional supply of 25,000 tonnes per annum of zircon concentrate from Thunderbird to China-based mineral sands processor, Hainan Wensheng High-Tech Materials Co. Ltd.
