Universal Biosensors names CEO, chairman

Universal Biosensors Inc. appointed Rick Legleiter as CEO, effective Oct. 1.

Legleiter recently served as senior vice president, healthcare account management, at Siemens Healthcare.

Additionally, Andrew Denver, who had been serving as Universal Biosensors' interim CEO, retired as chairman and executive director. He will remain with the company in an advisory capacity for at least 12 months.

Nonexecutive director Craig Coleman will succeed Denver as nonexecutive chairman. Coleman is executive chairman of Viburnum Funds, Universal Biosensors' largest shareholder.

Denis Hanley also stepped down as nonexecutive director.
