Canada Pension Plan commits up to US$350M to Keppel's Alpha Data Centre Fund

Canada Pension Plan Investment Board initially committed up to US$350 million to the Alpha Data Centre Fund with an option to invest an additional US$150 million, which would double the fund's size to US$1 billion.

The pension fund sponsor partnered with Keppel Group's Alpha Investment Partners Ltd. and Keppel Data Centres Holding Pte Ltd. on the allocation. The fund's assets under management will potentially reach roughly US$2.3 billion when fully leveraged and invested.

The fund, launched by private fund manager Alpha Investment Partners in July 2016, seeks to build a portfolio of new and existing data center assets in Asia-Pacific and Europe, where the asset class has strong demand.
