Yaizu Suisankagaku Industry Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 amounted to ¥4.93 per share, a decline of 56.8% from ¥11.41 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥61.3 million, a decrease of 58.5% from ¥147.5 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 1.4% from 3.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased year over year to ¥4.48 billion from ¥4.54 billion, and total operating expenses climbed year over year to ¥4.40 billion from ¥4.32 billion.
Reported net income declined 30.9% from the prior-year period to ¥67.0 million, or ¥5.39 per share, from ¥97.0 million, or ¥7.50 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥53.67 per share, a decrease of 16.5% from ¥64.27 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥681.9 million, a fall of 20.0% from ¥851.9 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue fell from the prior-year period to ¥19.39 billion from ¥19.86 billion, and total operating expenses came to ¥18.44 billion, compared with ¥18.63 billion in the prior-year period.
The company said reported net income fell 26.2% year over year to ¥680.0 million, or ¥53.53 per share, in the full year, from ¥921.0 million, or ¥69.49 per share.
