Live Nation Entertainment Inc. acquired a controlling interest in U.K.-based festivals promoter Cuffe & Taylor.

Live Nation UK Chairman Denis Desmond said Jan. 23 that the move is part of the company's plan to expand its U.K. presence.

Current Cuffe & Taylor joint directors Daniel Cuffe and Peter Taylor will continue to lead the U.K indie, the release said. Cuffe & Taylor promotes the Lytham Festival and Greenwich Music Time, among other events.

Earlier in January, Live Nation also acquired a majority stake in the BottleRock Napa Valley festival.
