Mannatech swings to loss in Q2

Mannatech Inc. said its second-quarter normalized net income was a loss of 26 cents per share, compared with 96 cents per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of $703,750, compared with income of $2.6 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to negative 1.4% from 5.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased year over year to $48.8 million from $46.7 million, and total operating expenses increased 16.2% on an annual basis to $48.9 million from $42.1 million.

Reported net income came to a loss of $1.3 million, or a loss of 49 cents per share, compared to income of $3.1 million, or $1.15 per share, in the prior-year period.
